Mark Weingarten is the dedicated CEO of Norfolk Autism Center and brings a personal commitment to his role as well. Having a sister on the autism spectrum, Mark clearly understands the importance of early intervention and knows that having individualized treatment plans results in the best outcomes.

With years of experience in the healthcare field, Mark is well-equipped to lead and innovate. His goal is to deliver the highest-quality care to the Virginia autism community and make a significant impact in these local areas.

Madonna Grace Valdez is the Clinical Director at Norfolk Autism Center. She brings compassion and client-centered care to our clinic daily with her professional experience and bright personality.

MA, BCBA, LBA

Kristen Aguilar is a Board‑Certified Behavior Analyst with nearly a decade of experience crafting playful, research‑driven ABA programs for autistic learners. After earning her M.A. in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University, she has served children across Virginia and Colorado, known for blending natural‑environment teaching with parent coaching so new skills carry over seamlessly to home and school. Kristen’s commitment runs deep: as the mother of two young children on the spectrum, she pairs professional expertise with lived insight, giving families practical strategies that truly resonate. Working alongside Behavioral Technicians at Norfolk Autism Center, she helps foster communication, independence, and confidence through every joyful milestone.

MS, BCBA, LBA

Samantha Popio is a creative, data‑driven BCBA whose passion is helping young learners find their voice. She holds an M.S. in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis and has provided early‑intervention and school‑age services across Ohio and Virginia since 2016. Samantha specializes in verbal‑behavior programming, functional‑play skills, and sensory‑support strategies that keep therapy engaging and fun. Known for her colorful visual supports and collaborative spirit, she works hand‑in‑hand with parents, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to ensure each child’s plan is truly holistic. Her favorite victories are the everyday breakthroughs—first words, first friendships, first high‑fives—that show real progress in real life.
